1st "Laiqun Cup" XiangQi Tournament will be held in Hebei from 21st to 28th December 2007, with first prize of 200,000 yuan.
There will be 12 Men's and 8 Women's participants, namely Grandmasters Hu Ronghua(absence), Liu Dahua, Lu Qin, Xu Tianhong, Zhao Guorong, Xu Yinchuan, Tao Hanming, Yu Youhua, Hong Zhi, Zhao Xinxin, Liu Dianzhong, Yan Wenqing, Wu Xia, Wang Linna, Jin Haiying, Zhang Guofeng, Dang Guolei, Zhao Guanfang, Tang Dan and You Yingqin.

2007 3rd World Xiangqi Masters(2007/09/18-2007/12/12)
The Worldmindmaster's final ended in Beijing with the victory of Wang Bin, who defeated Jiang Chuan in a thrilling finish.
Jiang Chuan just needed a draw to clinch the top honour. However Wang Bin won the vital 4th game, then proceeded to win the additional sudden-death quickplay as well.

The Indonesian Chinese Chess Association is hosting this event from 2nd to 8th December 2007, at the Hotel Soechi, Medan. 25 xiangqi experts (18 male, 7 female) will be contesting for the two Champion titles.
Medan, a flourishing port town, is the gateway to Sumatra, Indonesia. The beautiful Lake Toba, and the Batak buildings and culture in this area have attracted tourists from all over the world.

2007 Chinese 1st Division Xiangqi League held in ShangHai on 22 May 2007,12 teams participated in the tournament.This year new rules put forward by Grandmaster Hu Ronghua were adopted. What it means is basically players with Red pieces started with 80 minutes in their clocks, playing times for players with Black pieces varied as a result of "bidding" (calling the prices). 30 seconds may have been added to each move.
In case of a draw, player with Black pieces is declared winner. Both players can bid for the right to play Black pieces.the League will finish on 19 December 2007.

Xiangqi is included for the first time in the forthcoming series of the Asian Indoor Games. A total of 28 xiangqi players from countries/ regions will be competing in four categories: Men's Team, Men's Individual, Men's Speed Game and Women's Individual.These competitions spanning from 27 Oct to 30 Oct, will all be held at the Macau International Shooting Range.
A modest start, but an important milestone in the development of xiangqi.

The Macau Xiangqi General Association is hosting this biennial WXF event from 17th to 22nd October 2007. There are two four categories: Men's Team, Men's Individual,Non-Chinese/ Vietnamese and Women's Individual. The first three categories are run as one tournament, using different criteria to determine the ranking for each category. All matches will be held at the Tap Saec Multi-sport Pavilion.
A total of 86 players from 25 countries/regions (72 male, 14 female) will be competing in this championships.
